 This is a pretty typical view of the undeveloped areas around where I live. There are still lots of open spaces here, though that is changing. If it's not being developed for housing, it's being planted in vineyards. This particular area, the central coast of California, is becoming quite well respected as a wine producing area.

Strange little mound with the trees growing up one side of it. Great colors and DOF.

Cool looking mound sticking up out of the ground!! I love wide open spaces. You know why grapes do so well in your area? Same latitude or is it longitude as Chili which produces nice grapes. Saw it on NOVA a few weeks ago.

Cool sky. I know that in Cali that little hill is quite unremarkable, but here in the Midwest it would probably result in a ski area. ;-)

I like the lines in this and the way that the clouds seem to be emanating from the hilltop like some sort of smoke signal.

The clouds are making nice leading lines to the hill. Lots of vineyards here in VA, too, though they are farther out where land is cheaper, rather than around my immediate area.

There's perceptibly more green than in your last shot -- the rain is finally taking effect. Just a suggestion -- you might crop or clone out that little bit of pavement in the lower right. This will make a lovely shot in the summer when the hills turn golden.
