This was taken a little while after the death of 9 men in Huntington, Utah at a mine disaster. 6 Killed and 3 Rescuers Died in the attempt of searching underground for those minders for days and day while families and friends suffered with what little hope they could hold on to.

Here we have Wendy, the wife of one of our heroes who gave his life and mother of kid i've grown up with through school. She was given the gift to set an eagle free...freeing our hope, sorrow, memories, and wisdom. Up at one of the highest overlooks in Huntington Canyon: Skyline Drive.

I'm on the mountainside with my camera in my hand waiting to see this massive eagle to take off into the sky.. I didn't know exactly when to begin slamming my finger down on the shutter release... i feel it just worked out.

This photo has a lot of meaning in our little mining county of Emery.

the image is way too small, you should use up more of the available pixels. also, i am not sure what is going on with that heavy gradient up top.

Just size this thing up to 720 and you've got a picture that shows well. I'm sure everyone is telling you this...but just in case! ;)

A great view of what I'm sure is a significant event, but as a photo, I am afraid it lacks. Small image size, someting creating shadows at the top... I'm sure I'm not the first commenter to mention these things, though.

Oh I wish you'd used the full size allowance for this - it's a magical picture - would like to see it bigger!

There's one major aspect of this image that works, and that's timing. You've captured a moment at the perfect time.

However, there are many things that unfortunately work against my experience viewing this image. For one thing, the black stripe along the top makes it look like the bird is about to fly into a wall, and doesn't signify the "open skies" of being set free. You haven't utilized the maximum image size, which prevents the viewer from seeing a lot of detail. I'd love to see the expression on the face of the person letting go of the bird. Even the man and woman to the left might be good to include, too.

Why not take advantage of the maximum image size. Also, not sure what is happening at the top and bottom of the image. Focus is extremely soft. Sorry. Good Luck. 2.

It's a pity this is so small.

Great subject only wish it was bigger.
