...so are my windows! An abandoned migrant workers camp near my house. The orchard is gone now so it is no longer needed.

This looks like an entry for Framing. Nice idea, and you've done a nice job of framing the shot in the broken window. But, somehow, it takes a non-trivial effort to really see the broken window framing your main subject. I think your added frame is working against you - too wide / heavy and you mentally dismiss the edges because of the heavy frame. A light, white, narrow frame might have served your shot better.
