Our Interstate Highway which is maintained by the county, thank gawd! The x-marks on the righthand side are made by white-tailed and mule deer that meander down the hill crossing the road to drink from the river. They wisely use the same trails.

please...is this over sharpened? It hurts my eyes now that I look at it on the web. I barely used USM on this one.

Does not appear over-sharpened to me. Love the winding road and contrast btw sky & snow.

wonderful capture, great perspective with the curve in the road and lighting. The sharpening mite be a touch much but I think shutterpuppy put it well :)

I love the way that the line of the road leads into the line running in the opposite direction across the mountain.

First - this is just fantastic. The light on the high trees is especially nice. Makes me want to head up for some skiing.

Second - the sharpening - perhaps just a touch. This is always subjective, but the sense of perhaps being over sharpened for me comes is two areas: the blown snow on the lower left and the rocks in the left-lower-center, above the brush. I think sharpening is one of the hardest things to do well, and I am more partial to less sharpened images rather than the heavily sharpened stuff you often see here on DPC, so take my critique with a grain of salt.

this is one of those photos that i can just set and look at forever. so you need to quit posting these for it really slows down my commenting.

Lovely place. I can't really tell about the oversharpened thing. Looks fine to me.

Nothing wrong with snow in snow country. I like the sharpness and the blinding white snow, brings back memories of MN.

I don't find it to be oversharpened. It's a beautiful image. The sweeping road and the rolling hills - very well seen.

People were driving 60-65 mph on this road. I pulled over to take this image...there's 2 eagles in the trees to the left of me! You get use to driving on this. If you don't the locals will run you off the road! I've learned the hard way and am still learning. People are always cursing me for driving too slow and they especially get irritated if they see you are taking photos. They think you are a real estate person selling yet more land to developers or you are a tourist.

Nice light and shadows, and not oversharpened to my eye. I don't see any nasty oversharpening artifacts like halos or jaggies. Sharpness is really great since there is so much to see in this!

This is a beautiful setting, and the dark sky makes the mountains show up nicely. I would have to drive very slowly on that road until I got used to driving in those conditions. Not oversharpened.
