The sun came out yesterday afternoon so I went back to the prison park and found ... Bluebirds! They spooked easily and I had a dog with me, which might have contributed to their spookiness just a little. So no really close shots, but this is a fun sequence. They are such gorgeous birds, especially in contrast to the drabness of the winter grass around them.
Handheld so I should have forced a higher shutter speed, but when I saw them I just started snapping away. Settings had been manual for a different lens I was using to photograph something else; I really know better than to leave the settings unchanged when I switch lenses!
really good Mary! promises of spring!! yay! each image is so well done, the combination too....bluebird bluebird fly away
only to return another day...
Nice colors. I love to sit and watch the birds in my front yard. I almost bought a big feeder last week to bring them in closer so I can get some shots.
Ahhhhh~!!! Delightful and sweet images. Such a nice capture of the bird in flight. I love these jewels but they don't make it our way often. I've only seen one once. Thanks for sharing these beauties with us!! Be sure to frame and hang this on your wall!
What a nice find. They are very rare this far south. I don't believe that I have ever seen them in this area. You did very well for shooting this
at 1/200 sec.
