Thanks guys!!!!!

Dr. Achoo thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I was wondering about that sign in the foreground. Everyone gave me such valuable information on this photo. I take hundreds of shots of the same thing over and over, but I only took a few images of this house or I would have changed the camera setting. I think I'll recrop this image and take the sign out.

THANKS everyone!

Shooting snow is tricky. Good job here recovering from the underexposed original.

A general rule for shooting snow is too overexpose form the meter reading by 1-2 stops. You would have had more details in the trees as well.

Otherwise, not much wrong here at all. Good comp, nice post processing. No real "wow" factor needed to do well on DPC but a really nice score.

This shot is very nice, and I'm going to comment on this before reading Jason's post, just so you get my viewpoint. The first thing i noticed on this shot was the perfect white color in the snow. You also managed to do this without killing the rest of the shot. Also it has a nice composition that leads your eyes through the shot with the fence.

Another thing that you did very well was the contrast in this shot. It makes the trees stand out a lot more and adds a lot to the shot. This is a really neat shot, and you have done a great job capturing the snow with the correct color. Very nicely done, keep up the good work.

Technicals: A shot which scores 6+ has to have gotten the basics right and this is no exception. You control the snow which is probably the most important aspect of the picture. Portrait orientation is good for this shot and we see a leading line in the fence which gets us eventually to the house.

The feel: The bare sign is a bit of a hindrance since it doesn't serve as a very good foreground subject. Our eye is drawn to it, but we get no reward for looking at it. The sign is gone and we don't know what the purpose was. It also is not very pretty and actually breaks up the leading line somewhat. Sometimes you can't do much about it, but perhaps working on the point of view or composition could have minimized it just a bit more. Finding another foreground subject, even if it has to be placed (but not look like it's placed. :) I do this ALL the time) might be helpful.

The game: 6+ scores are always to be appreciated. A nice picture.

I remember that when I saw this, I liked the tiny white sparks on the trees. They look like little Christmas lights. What a pretty scene!

The delicate colouring of the sky and good exposure on the snow make your photo stand out for me.

I love the slight imperfection of the broken fence.

Really nice. I like the perspective and punch in this one. The composition flows nicely, up the fence to the house. Only suggestion I would make is perhaps cropping a little bit more off the bottom, as the vertical comp is a bit centered and I don't think the extra ground adds much to the image.

This is a very peaceful shot. I'd love to join you on the walk. The broken fence leaves me wondering what was in the pasture. I love the swirling clouds overhead... they bring some gentle turbulence to the peace.
