 This is the first challenge I've entered all month and I was expecting a score at least a full point higher. Just when I think I "got it", the DPC voters remind me that I haven't.

In addition to this, I have nothing for the free study, even though I took nearly 1500 pictures this month. I really don't want to look at two average scores for the next week.

Edit: I decided to enter something in the FS. I can't be wrong twice in a row!!

Those challenges are tough on the artist within... From seeing your pictures in this SOL, I know what a talented photographer you are. I agree totally with Pat patio127: it is just someone else's opinion, not a definitive judgement of how good your work is. That's why side challenges are so much fun: people tend to look at the images with the open mind needed to properly appreciate them. Thanks for all your comments Ken, it's been really fun playing with you.

Thanks for a fun free challenge. I have enjoyed your "slices" of life very much. You are one amazing photographer and one mad crazy processor!! Rock On!!! Best of lucj in the free study.

I think you need to develop a thicker skin. I've got three images in voting at the moment - one is a pretty but essentially meaningless macro, the other two (more out-of-the-box monochrome shots) are in my view amongst the best photographs I've ever taken. No prizes for guessing which one's doing the best in the voting ;)

Just because an image receives a higher score it doesn't make it a better photo. The important thing is that it's a shot which you really like, and if some commenters like it too (or offer some useful feedback) then so much the better.
