Last Owl ---This is a Great Horned Owl characterized by broad ear tufts creating cat-like head shape. They are large and bulky also solitary..

That's a cool shot, the dark owl and those eyes against the light background really give it a menacing look. Thanks for sharing a slice of your life!

This shot is excellent! I like the way the feathers are covering the feet to hold in the heat. Beautiful bird, and a very clear shot.
Here is what they look like as babies: , and they make the cutest noises when trying to learn to hoot.

Very cool horned owl - I like the processing and the fact that you were able to isolate it so much. I love VINS - it is worth a visit, especially since it is so close to Simon Pierce, Woodstock, and the Quechee gorge. Nice work!

Did you find him in the wild!? He is awesome!! I saw an owl myself this weekend, not nearly close enough to get a shot like this though. Simply awesome :)
