Pre-challenge comment:

I'm expecting to get slammed with DNMC comments on my "subject". The challenge description is, "Use some form of contrast in your photo to isolate your subject."

My "subject" is a group of photographers (not one photographer, but one group of photographers). This subject is isolated (set apart) from the rest of the composition by the off-setting colors of their clothes. We'll see.

RAW image shot in manual mode, and then converted.

I'm satisfied with the 5.6579 score. Thanks all!

For those that wondered where this was taken, it was at Zabriskie Point in the Death Valley National Park. Here's an outtake (actually, it's the original composition):

Excellent crop: the 3 different hues of the ridges provide just the right background to the line of colourful photographers. (I rather doubt there exist any pictures of so large a group of photographers that is as well composed).

This is so classic. Where was it taken - the Badlands in Utah?

I like the perspective. I'm sure they are not as near tot he edge as this looks. The tilt of the ground lends to the appearance of a precarious location.

Very cool! I wish I could come to one of these gatherings. The lines passing across the frame add depth which is cool and I love how all the photographers are dressed and positioned differently but still make a very nice cohesive group

Now, that's a perspective you don't see too often. I love it. What an interesting photo!

Neat contrast of the rocks. Looks like a popular place or GTG. Good luck.

I wonder what they are all taking photos of.
