 I was out at a friend's house and they had these ducks in their bathroom, so I thought "challenge" and grabbed my gear from the car. The background is three leather placemats balanced like a corner on their kitchen table. I've got a selection of outtakes from their legos that I'll up after the challenge - personally I'm not sure that one isn't better than this, but won't be as appealing and more abstract. I was torn between cropping out a lot of the top of the photo but it didn't feel right and I prefer the space there, although I'm not sure others will feel the same.

This is my attempt at doing something appealing because this isn't the sort of thing I'd usually shoot. Should be interesting to see how it does although I don't expect much from it when it comes to voting. I think the muted colours might not be appealing enough, or maybe rubber ducky is overdone. I guess I'll see...

PP: cloned out visible mess and edges to the leather mats, which had obvious cup marks everywhere...you can still see faint outlines on the back left if you look but I didn't want to mess with it too much. Brought up saturation and a touch of blue in the blue duck, adjusted yellow of the others. Sharpened blue duck, noise ninja, resize, jpg.

great use of color contrasts...
Didn't see much in the way of yellow on blue or red on green in this challenge as I expected...
