nice idea. however, i think it would have been more dramatic to try to use less lighting on the background for more contrast.

This picture really isn't doing much.

the element of lighting is slightly off....

would have loved to have seen more details and polish in the pan which would have complimented the glow

maybe at another angle or even only getting a portion of the element would have made it interesting but it holds not wow factor as it is.

Well, well, well. A brave "as is" composition and lighting. I'm afraid it's not as strong as it would be with another PoV.

The heating element is the most interesting part of the picture. The little bit of lighting on the bottom either from a flash or other lighting distracts. Darkening the room would really bring more attention to the spiral shape. The contrast of the orange and the black would make it a great abstract.

Good idea, very original, though i am not so keen on the crop.

Johnny Cash's voice just flashed through my head.

Technically no fire. But nice exposure of electric resistance :)

Harsh lighting in the bottom of the frame. Fairy easy difficulty factor and so I can't see this scoring particularly highly I'm afraid. Perhaps a more angled, abstract composition where only a portion of the ring is visible, with really hard pushed contrast so that it appears as glowing rings on a perfectly black background might have been more effective.

Good use of using what you have in your environment. I would maybe try a couple of differnt angles so we can see something a little differnt.
