This was lit with a big softbox to my left and an umbrella to my right, both hitting his face and on my camera the lighting looked nice. I have my lcd screen set to a kind of higher amount of light though...The darker left edge I am assuming is shutter lag from my sync speed screwing up....but really...why is it so GRAY? This is directly converted from raw and just my studio portraits come out looking this dull, and it isn't really ALL my studio portraits that look this dull, but a lot of them do, and I was wondering if anyone could shed some like on this. I don't like depending on photoshop so much. I want to be able to create great lighting without it. It often appears to be great lighting when I preview it on the camera during the shoot...so how can I be more accurate with all this?
