Being a fireman myself I found it hard not to like this image. I like how you got rid of all color except the fire. Nice shot, I gave it a 7.

The desaturation of the colors except the fire makes your eyes focus on the fire. The normally red or yellow color of the truck is white, which is interesting. It actually brings your eyes toward the side of the truck and follows the water toward the fire. This gives you eyes some great focus points. From "9" to a "10"

Having just the flames in color makes this image very dramatic.

Good work, my second Favourite next to the other Fire Fighter photo

Despite the black & white, my attention is still more drawn to the fireman top right than to the fire itself. Overall I like it a lot.

Great shot. Hope this was a training run... Not sure I like the selective desaturation in this instance, but it is effective. I will have to look at this one again and maybe adjust your score!

Nicely exposed, very sharp and clear. Super job framing it up! Desaturating all but the fire was a neat touch, nicely done. Should do well. DSLR?

I think it would have been better in all full color. Very cool though. 7.

You either have a scanner or know someone in the fire dept! I am assuming this is a practice run. Extremely well done. Crisp. BOL

Personally, I like the partial desaturation in this image, I think that it adds impact.
The tree in the foreground is a bit distracting but overall, one of the best images in the challenge

I don't usually like selective desaturation but this one is very cleverly done indeed and the detail is wonderful. There's so much to study here and yet the overall composition is strong too, with the tree, the arc of water and the repetition of the four or five men on the ground.

Very dramatic, good use of selective colour - good compositional balance - like the wide aspect ratio.
