Well I went ou for a walk today armed with my 400D (hey BTW Peter Canons rule, Nikons drool)

I took a load of shots and actually fel like a photographer as I did at least 50% on manual. These were two ducks I came across and I loved the synchronicity of their diving. I kinda missed the zoom of my old P&C but the fact that the 400D has so many more megapixels means you can crop fairly harshly and achieve the same result

I am sure my photography will get better as I understand my camera more but this was a very fun way to spend an hour

Jon - Nice capture and I love the title. i find it interesting that the waves are present above the ducks but not below. I think a bit more texture on the water would have been nice in the foreground - and I am sure that a Nikon would have been able to pick it up a lot better than that silly excuse for a camera you are dragging around...

Heh! That is cute. How do you like the 60mm? Have you tried macros with it? How close can you get? (Here I am asking and I haven't looked in your portfolio yet.)

The water actually has a texture to it. Just think, eventually you will get a zoom lens for your Canon and it will beat the socks off of your P&S.

Great diagonal line created from ripples of the water. I like how silky smooth the feathers look and the reflection is a nice added touch against the stillness of the water.

I guess if you could've gotten a closer shot, their feathers might've been sharper. Maybe you should've just gotten IN the water?
