Just walking down the street and this little alleyway sorta struck me... but i was tired and didn't want to get my camera out so I kept walking... and then I remembered that I promised myself to always pursue a photographic instinct no matter what burden or hassle it is, so i forced myself to turn around, and I'm glad I did. I like the sort of gothic vibe of the gate and the lights, and then the windows going up into the darkness...
Really like the way the wide walls and lights frame the shot and the leading lines to the doorway. The editing you've done is great for this photo. I'm glad you turned around and went back!
This photo is almost too "tall" for me. I'd take the top three windows off- or maybe burn them out. This is a fabulous example of a photo whose mood changes with a slight crop or alteration. Nice work.
