Endless rhythm of the ocean is often the source of artistic inspiration. It gave me the idea to capture this one-chance-per-year scene. With the setting sun blocked by the far rock, the details of near rocks and blue ocean became possible within one RAW capture.

No, I didn't use tone mapping nor S/H. Tone mapping can not make this photo better. Haven't tried S/H yet. Will try it and see if it's good.

I really enjoy sunset shots, but this one beats all others I have seen personally or in photograph. Very nice job!
Congratulations on your ribbon!

I'd like to see this shot on the cover of a greeting card!

I see you did not need good luck, William - way to go! Northern Light and Ocean Shores usually go down well in challenges, and this is no exception. Stunning picture, congratulations with your blue ribbon for a Christmas present ...

Great exposure and processing. Foreground really jumps out nicely and the sunset does not over take the photo.

I think you deserve a ribbon for this shot... the colours are outstanding, and the "frosted" look of the water give this a nice relaxing feel.

How many water n' rock shots are there? Another well-executed one, but I'm beginning to wonder if that's even a compliment. Evidently these are absolutely cake to shoot.

perfect exposure, beautiful color - one of my top picks

Absolutely great balance of light and texture in the dark spots. The rocks could have easily been blacked-out by the sun, but you didn't allow that here. Great water effect, great sky, while preserving detail on the rocks!

Back to comment: The effect of the long exposure time on the water produced a wonderful focal point for this image. Without it, this would just be another pretty landscape. You hit the challenge description right on the head and earned a 10 from me. Nice job!
