A misaligned side bolt due to a sagging gate. The beauty of imperfection.

Love this simple photo. With the leaf there, it made me think of a garden gate and spring, which I am ready for now :) I like how you used the line to cut off a 1/3 of the photo. I wish tho that the bolt was in focus because my attention is drawn more to the wood behind it.

Gritty and (im)perfect.

My first thought was "beauty must be in the eye of the beholder" but on second look this really is beautiful, like an oil painting. The subject is not so beautiful, but I'd be happy to hang this photo on my wall.

This is really cool. It absolutely shows the beauty in everyday things. Fits "Wabi-Sabi" to perfection. (Is that an oxymoron?)

Interesting textures, but the leaf in the lower left corner is distracting.

Bit of settling occurred over time, eh? Give it another year and the ivy will cover both parts of the lock! Nice subject for this. Love the rust and weathered look; could use maybe a touch more DOF to get the right side lock part (uh, the slidey bit) in sharper focus.

love the simplicity & the irony of this image, the old decaying lock and the new vine leaf; tho to hit the true Wabi0Sabi definition, i think focusing on the lock & door alone would have nailed it..6

i think the little plant creeping up is a little distracting. Really like the textures though

Some lovely texture in the weathered metal and wood. Composition doesn't really work for me and the intruding ivy doesn't contribute for me. I think a tighter study of the bolt and weathered wood might be stronger.

This makes me smile. It's the kind of thing I look for to shoot, too. Very nice.
