OK chaps I guess that some pictures probably warrant a little explanation. After a very productive morning of ironing, food shopping and homework Daisy and I decided to take advantage of the sunshine and go and feed the ducks and swans on the river and pond. We were only meant to go out for 20 minutes but we both thouroughly enjoyed the fact that so many things were frozen (is there a sound which can compare to ice cracking)

Anyway at some point in the procedings it a discussion occured about whether it would be possible to break ice over ones own head. It was decided by all that this would be a fine thing to test and here is the outcome.

We ended up staying out for about three hours and returning (For hot chocolate and tea in our favourite mugs) very pink cheeked and cold but happy.

I know there are a lot of technical issues on this shot but to be honest this is one of those where it is the feelings that the picture will evoke in me in the future rather than the nicities of photography that matter

Ah this is really cute! Not sure I'd want to try it though.

You fret of technical flaws yet both shots are just fine - and the fun factor involved and so very clearly conveyed FAR exceeds anything technical that the ubersensitivetechnicaldweebs might notice. Really a lovely memory of what looks to be a great afternoon!

I hope that through the night you checked your daughter's neuro. status to make sure there wasn't any internal cranial bleeding going on!

Lovely capture of a moment that can truly never be repeated. Love the expressions you both caught of each other. And great job on the diptych!

Sour? Hmmm... I dunno.

lol it's like you are playing (American) soccer with ice sheets. I like the goofy energy captured in both photos. The flying shards of ice are... cool. I'm sure Daisy will treasure these kinds of photos you have been taking.

I have only a sweet comment, sorry.

Its days like this that create the memories of a lifetime. The fact you captured it in photos is secondary. Your daughter is very lucky to have a Dad like you!

Sweet: You and your daughter are goof-balls. I love your face as if - "I can't believe I am doing this". It looks like you had a good time!

Sour: The use of diptychs and text are strictly forbidden in all sactioned DPC sweet/sour side challenges. You should refer to page 4 section 3 part B line 37 for the clear distinction of such attempts at high marks. Therefore, I must disqualify this/ these shot(s)...
