The Minke whale measure approximately 8meters in length, can weigh between 6 to 8 tons. They have dark gray backs, pale underside and a bright white patch or diagonal band across the middle of the upper surface of the flippers. Their diet consists mainly of small fish and krill (shrimplike crutaceans). They are solitary whales.
