Used some lump charcoal that tended to "pop" a lot to get the embers flying for this shot. Took about 25 shots to get this one. Cropped out the main portion of the fire, resized and that was about it. Thanks to all for your votes and great comments.

I really like the composition of the shot, especially the softness of the flame coupled with the crispness of the 'fire flies'

This looks like a tough shot to take. The tradeoff of a longer shutter speed to see the flies cost some detail in the fire.

I love the sharpnes of those little lines, and the composition with the main portion of the flame being in the bottom right corner of the image. Excellent exposure, good camerawork. 8
