I’d like the picture to have more contrast, and a different angle may have worked somewhat better.

Doesn't really convey hell to me ... it does give me a feeling of frustration, though. Composition is OK, I think it's competing against more artistic (possibly abstract?) representations so it doesn't hold ground well.

Interesting photo, however I do think the title is the primary connection to the challenge, rather than the photo itself.

On the technical side you did a nice job controlling the exposure on the white clothes of the boy sitting down. A UV filter could have helped to control the bluish background in the distance.

i think a different perspective could have helped. maybe from the ground looking up at the child and the top of the pole?
