fwiw, i was interested in making this look like a kid's book illustration and the separation between the figure and backdrop just felt right.

Something funny happened - I didn't see Don's face until I'd been looking for quite some time. Now that I do, it adds a nice touch of creepiness. I'm not sure what you did in shooting or editing, but he seems disconnected from the background, like he's standing in front of a backdrop.

I have a couple of things on this one. The PP leaves me with a very undefined metal gate. The tree right in front of the gate the looks very over processed for my taste. I love post processing, but this shot falls in between two things for me. If you go to big PP I can love that if the whole image is processed in that way, but the foreground character is not processed in the same way and that leaves me without continuity.

Interesting shot. There is something about the editing that isnt grabbing me though. I think I wish for a darker feel to the scenery.
