Photographer’s Notes
During the Seattle DPC get-together, we visited the historic Paramount theatre. Originally built to show silent movies, ambience was created by a talented organist who watched the movie and “accompanied” it on a theatre organ. The accompaniment included music, certainly, but also sound effects like whistles, sirens, fog horns and such. This theatre organ was state of the art special effects (Fx) in 1928.

Without being there, this photo may not mean a lot to you. But during the tour, we listened to it, and this image brings back for me the sound of this magnificent organ. I hope my treatment of the image evokes a nostalgic feel and that, just maybe, it will speak to you as it does to me.

Too bad the focus is so soft. You are missing a lot of nice detail in the subject. The crop feels a little tight, especially on the top. I like the sepia tone.
