I was driving to work when I saw these guys (gals actually) on the side of the road, so I stopped, rolled down the passenger side window, turned on my camera, got 3 pictures before they ran for their lives (I was shooting them you know, but my ammo was flash, not bullets). I went back and forth with the post processing, from colored, to black and white, to this. This is what I went with (obviously). I like it.

PP
Some contrast, curves, sharpen all over, high pass sharpen on the eyes, slight crop, clone out one deers ear on the right side of the photo, applied time machine effect, resize, done.

This is a beautiful shot, but the vignette needs a bit more opactity - right now it's so dark that my eye goes to the vignette instead of the centre where the deer's eyes are. Also, I think it needs a boost in contrast - it's a bit muddy. One thing for all DP Challenges, since the size 640 pixels means you have to size down your image you're going to lose sharpening. This alwys happens when you size down... If you're using PHotoshop, the best tool is unsharp mask. However, any kind of overall sharpening would help a little. I'm finding the highlights in this need a bit of a boost as well.

I like the duotone. The image feel a little soft and I would have liked a subtler vignette. I really like the pose you caught with just the head of the second deer passing by.

The vignette border detracts from this otherwise workmanlike photo IMO.
