My first shot.

I know it will not do well.
But I just could'nt get myself to sit by the sidelines no more. :-)

Be kind.

Shot in the winter sun with a wall for a backdrop. I wish I had a better background. Needed a better angle and a better table.

Thank you all.
For a first time ... not too displeased with myself.
Thanks for all the comments

I think this would have been better farther from the wall.

Love it! My only suggestion would have been to put this against a darker colored wall to make that one stand out a bit more, but I dig the creativity.

Good idea. It's a little overexposed. Also, the straight-on angle isn't that interesting. I wonder how it would've looked from above one of the corners to get some diagonals into it?

I think the concept is great (Whiterook?). A clean sensor would have been even better ;)

Perhaps shooting from a higher point could emphasize where these pieces are in relation to the King. Turning a little to the left could afford a better view of the rook also.

Interesting. You have made your point both with positioning and colour difference. I like it.

Check mated by both the bishop and the night, minus points for lack of attention

And suddenly, out of nowhere, an army of ferocious dark-wood-eating termites swarmed in to save the fair king. :)
