At first I was just planning on shooting the leaf with nothing on it. I wanted to use a ladybug but I couldn't find any, so I decided to set it up anyway. After I took a few photos I realized that they were way too boring and needed something. So I got my camera all focused and set up on a tripod and then my while my brother would count down to three and click the shutter button I dropped water out of a dropper on to the leaf. I quit after about 75 shots and just picked what I thought was the best.

Editing in Photoshop:
-Straighten and crop
-Selective color to correct the background (the white balance wasn't quite accurate so it made the red look pinkish)
- Hue/Saturation
-Levels
-Photo filter
-USM and save for web

I'm predicting anywhere above a 6

This is my favorite so far. The colors vibrate and to me that is what makes the compliments work for me. Used to do a lot of geometric art with compliments. The water drops are a refreshing addition.

i love the red/green combo. just wondering if lighting from a different angle could've shown more detail of the turbulent water on hitting the leaf getting ready to roll off. nice shot.

makes me think of tropicana o.j. i don't know why, but at work and home the backround looks orange instead of red, but it could be me ; ). the water drops are a nice touch and the centered comp appeals to me in this shot.

This is a very warm and vibrant shot. I like the drips of water and the reflection of light in the water drops on the 'leaf' (right? leaf?) Very nicely taken.

Unique image. Would have liked to have seen more textured on the green leave or maybe better lighted droplets on the leave - 6
