 The view from the beach in Ireland. Taken at sunrise from Portmarnock looking towards an island near the town of Howth. An unbelievable sight to have witnessed in person. The sun came up directly behind the island. Every minute was a different scene. Totally captivating. Cropped, levels, cloned out some dust, contrast adjustment, Neat Image, sharpened.

I think placing the rock in the upper right by the rule of thirds would have worked very well.

somehow it appears to me that you couldn't make up your mind what you want to show - more of the sky or more of the beach. So you plced the horizon right n the middle.

A lovely powerful sky and an effective silhouette. I wonder if you could have introduced a bit more drama by maybe lying down to take the shot and placing the island/headland a little less centrally. :)

nice dynamic range, but I wish the file size was bigger. Yours is 78 kb and you can use up to 150 kb. This would make details in the clouds much finer and help your score I think. If you have PS try the save for web feature and take a look at this tutorial for getting images ready for challenges.

You've managed to preserve the detail on the water, coax out a fantastic red/orange sunset, and you woke up early in the morning to get this image, which earns points in my book.
