 Just wanted to do something strong in color for a change, I usually lean towards B&W or desaturated images. I picked up some translucent colorful thumbtacks and stuck them into some foam board.

Editing included- convert from Raw, slight crop,levels adj, curves adj, saturation adjust, resize, add border, and sharpened with USM.

So simple but effective. Excellent shallow focus only on the subject. This must be a very fast lens. It looks like the on-camera flash was used. Side or diffused lighting would have helped.

good D of F and sharp as a pin:) my only nit is the lines of the other pins, the effect seems to give the feeling the picture is sloping to the left

I enjoy the single focus of the green tack, but it just seems staged.

Perfect DOF! The green one would have stood out anyway but gets extra oomph from the focus. I like the curvy line of the composition. Nit: there's a little too much space on top; it feels like it would be better balanced if the pins in the back were at a sharper angle instead of straightening out.
