This morning, because it was a nice clear and calm day, I and a buddy went to the top of San Bruno Mountain to see the view. It was pretty good with some haze. This shows some of the SF skyline, and across the Bay Bridge lies Berkeley and Oakland. If the resolution was really good, you could see details of Candlestick Park and a fair amount of the BayView district of SF. I worked this over in two segments, using shadows & highlights, levels and sharpening on the background and only sharpening on the foreground. Of course I did a big crop to put it in something like a panorama.

Getting a little more specific on location: San Bruno Mt. has all those antennas on top of it. Daly City is on the north & west flank and South San Francisco is on the south & west flank. Directly below in the picture is the town of Brisbane and all that industrial stuff, before one gets to the airport. But these communities sprawl all over the place, so I'm just talking about the residential and business districts above.

Candlestick Park home of the 49er's and is Oakland home of the Raiders?
Used to be a 49er fan but not into watching the games per say..
Nice panorama lay out.. Gives one an idea of the cities..

Extremely pleasingly laid out - agree with cogerox about the mountain's part in the composition. By no means your common panorama.

Great panorama, so clear! (and a very nice story). I agree with cogerox, the mountain in the foreground is wonderful for the perspective. I think this looks even more beautiful with more pixels on the screen.

Alice this is wonderful. I wish I was viewing this on something other than my poor quality laptop monitor. How clear and crisp this is. I bet it isn't this clear very often. I'm not familiar with the circumstances of this photo, but I'm glad you included that mountain top in the foreground to give us a perspective. Just out of curiosity are you just West of Daly (SP?)City and South SF right now?
