I nipped into the British Library one lunchtime for this shot. This is looking down onto the Kings Library. There are volumes of priceless ancient tomes and yet everyone was focussed on their PC's.

Yep I know it is noisy, to be honest I was going for an old world feel and to try and make the laptops seem even more out of place

I'm guessing most will feel I have failed and a sub 5 will follow

It's light enough for me and I love the juxtaposition. It's well and subtly done. Excellent perspective for this.

Great shot, Jon. Top 20 finish - sweet. I love the photo, though I could have lived without the border. Good choice of duotone.

Jon - Clearly one of my favorites in the challenge. I love libraries like this and I think it really comes off well.

I think the issue I have with the grain is that there is 'not enough' of it to come off as being on purpose. With the extensive dark areas and the carpet that has a texture to it, the only grain I really see is on the columns and this looks a bit out of place.

Nice work and good score and placement. Top 20!!!

The thick black border is a crime here. I can barely make out what is going on in the shot because it was taken from 17 miles away, and then part of the frame is lopped off amd replaced with two thick black lines. Lighting looks nice.

Great angle and contrast with the stacks of books behind the students.
