Rescueable for sure. Here is a very slapdash fast and dirty treatment I gave it. Much more could be done with the original and a bit more time.

I hope you don't mind that I played with it.
P.S. I just noticed that we use almost identical cameras! Don't be afraid to leave the flash open and on auto to experiment with fill flash in contrasty brightly lit outdoor scenes. Check it out.
P.P.S. You nailed the Rule of Thirds on this shot, which most find very desireable, but some would argue that the model should face the largest "empty" space except when bringing to someone's attention that they are leaving or going fast. Not a firm rule by any means for sure though. Just a thought.

I have to agree with Anthony here. The lighting on the subject is a little dark which makes this photo off a little. Try adding a marquee around her and darkening the BG, or adding more light to her with the dodge tool.
It's a good photo and a good pose. A lot of photographers use train tracks for BG's as they are easy to look at and not distract the viewer. I think you did a great job with the angle and DOF in this shoot. Just work on the flash some and you will be taking awesome shots.

Nice degree of freedom here. I think a little fill flash would have done wonders for lighting her face up though. But the photo is gorgeous and she has a nice smile there. I also like how you didn't let the light provide harsh light (as it looks like it's taken mid-day) |
