My first ever attempt at dripology. I was inspired to attempt this form of stop motion photography by electrolostopening forum post, with his hilarious comment, "If another liquid drop picture wins I am gonna freakin rip my eyes out of my skull :)" Why not add one more another liquid drop picture to the hundreds in this challenge just for fun!?

Credit is due to my son, Thomas, and photographic mentor, zoomdak, for his tutorial on dripology. The star pattern is from the bottom of a cut glass bowl from our kitchen. I shot this in all white conditions with four table lamps and attached camera flash as the light sources.

Post-processing included square crop, color balance to blue, invert, color balance to push yellow and red contrasts, USM.

The title is a slight alteration of electrolost's forum comment. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm predicting a 5.9 finish. Let the other drops drop!

the centered composition takes away from this shot, but the color is quite dynamic. the water drop shot is way over done, but will not affect my scoring.

I really liked this one because of the title. After staring at the image for a while I really like the image too! It really looks like a squinting sun with an eye being ripped out into a drop!!! My first 10 in a while!

The sunburst background obscures the water drop and hides the plume of water.

colors are pretty. to me there is just too much going on. the sun or sunflower is difficult to make-out - but oh, it's a water drop - almost didn't notice. I can't see the water drop action very well which is probably supposed to be the main event here. a different angle needed? imo

Funny title, I like how you used the plate to make it a bit different

Good water shot but way too much on the background.

very powerful color here. Have to look twice to find the drop.

the angle of the shot makes it hard to see the droplet.

wonder what electrolost will say :)
overall a bit cluttered, looks oversharpened. nice color.

Lovely splash - good variation on a theme! Not so keen on the title. Good Luck!
