Florida still has living coral off the east central coast. The reef hosts a myriad of species of fish and invertebrates. This is a representation of daylight on the reef, from the Smithsonian Marine Ecosytems Exhibit in Fort Pierce, Florida. There are creatures within the crevices of the reef that come out at night. As with most wildlife, the living reef needs to be protected.
Along the Atlantic coast of Florida there is much emphasis on the sea, with boating, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming.

I like the fish, but I don't like the background (dull)

A little blown out and hazy, even for a tank shot. This looks like it was a hand-held shot that should have been a tripod shot.

Nice work getting the fish to pose. JEM

very nice

Looks like an aquarium to me. While the upper fish seems very clear, each fish that is farther away deteriourates quickly. The left side of the photo seems kinda surreal (I like that), but the right side shows drip marks on the tank (less than attractive). 7 Swash

The color sets a very nice mood here. Nice shot.

Cool shot! I love the bright colors, and especially like the little guy in there. They composed themselves nicely for you. Would love to have been able to see more detail in their surroundings. lhall-8

Bold color. Great subject. At first I was going to suggest the DOF was too shallow, but then I realized it accentuated the the two front fish. Something else is not quite right here, though. Oversharpening?? Nonetheless, very good picture.

Nice shot! Is this really a reef, or are you pulling our legs? I'm only asking because it looks a lot like an aquarium with some of the streaks. Nonetheless, quite cool.

A little more depth of field would be preferrable, but the clarity on the near subjects is very good. A little too yellow/green, but still a very good shot.

Color and light are a bit funky here. I know the glass is hard to deal with. Score 6 Justine.

I don't think this meets the challenge criteria, unless the photographer is a fish.
