The vignetting works... but I'd suggest lowering the opacity so you can still see some details around the corner. This image appears to lack contast, even though I can see clear highlights and shadows. I'm wondering if maybe it just needs a boost in sharpness... when you res down an image you'll lose sharpenss (always happens).. the best tool is unsharp mask in Photoshop or any kind of sharpening tool you can find.

I think a different angle may have helped this, shooting from a lower angle to give depth to the albums maybe.

I think I would have preferred this in full color.. The contrast of the black records against the dying leaves would have been more interesting to look at. imho I do like the vignette and the idea.

The image is too flat. I would recommend reshooting with an artificial light source, directed across the records--you'll get some nice contrast and depth to the image. Toy around with some extra light (or higher exposures) and see what you like
