Comment - nice image, but I don't see it - and if the image needs explaining, it is not doing its job!

I looked up Cauchy Boundary Condition and I don't understand how the image or the title relates to Topless.

I don't understand the title or how it meets the challenge. But since it's probably something an American wouldn't understand I'll give you a decent score

bluezy

Differential equations - in fact maths in general - was never my strong point, and I am really struggling to understand the photograph in terms of both its title and the challenge. That said, as an image I do like it - the composition is cool, with its diagonal leading line running from bottom left to top right combined with the dimishing perspective.

Nice shot, but does not strike me as "topless"

I personally see many tops to this image. Its a nice texture that and vanishing point but I can not make the connection to topless.
11/16/2007 01:36:12 PM
huh? Isn't a surface similar to top???

MATH NERD ALERT! (I have a degree in Math BTW). Interesting abstract thought. I don't think most will get it though.

lol i think it's debatable whether or not this is really topless but i like it /8

I have absolutely no idea what that title means! I suppose I could google it.

Ok, I googled it and still have no idea what it means. A math nerd, I am not.

I like the texture and shadows in your photo, though.

Owwwww. I never thought scoring would give me a brain cramp. :) Yay for physics geeks!

Good title... Good rocks...
I have a problem with the patterns though... it must be a crazy ODE.

Everytime there's a challenge, I think what photo would I take. For this case, I thought of taking a photo of the sky, plain sky, no buildings, no other objects and subjects, just a plain blue (or gray) sky (if there happen to be a cloud or two, no problem, let them there). After looking at the photos in this challenge, this is the closest to my imaginary image. It's funny, because this is the opposite point of view, but I guess it conveys the same idea. So, it a sense, it conveys that people meet even when they take the contrary direction. It's a closed Universe, I guess...

What would be the idea? Well, maybe the emptiness of peopleless topless?

I obviously should have paid more attention in school, though I suppose I would still be more partial to the Taylor Series
11/14/2007 06:47:25 PM
I don't get it
11/14/2007 06:27:19 PM
I'm confused...
11/14/2007 05:36:53 PM
What is topless here?
11/14/2007 04:09:20 PM
Clever title!
11/14/2007 03:38:15 PM
I don't quite understand how this portrays "topless"

Being an engineer... I used to hate those problems on Cauchy's boundary problems ... but love your image.

Interesting pattern of bricks. I'm currently channeling with Laplace and Neumann, trying to figure out what all this means.

Hmmm, I really like this photo. It has neat lighting, good texture, and great lines and repitition of shapes and such. A cool take on this subject. Now, I'm not saying this as a dnmc zealot, but I'm not understanding the title, and the connection to the theme. I feel like I'm missing something though. I actually wouldn't mind at all if you would pm me and give me further info, I do really like the shot, and I can't help thinking that I should 'get it'.

I like the lines in your picture, but I realy have no clue what the relationship with the challenge theme is. (no vote)

IMHO...DNMC
