Challenge: Free Study 2007-11 (Advanced Editing V)
Camera: Canon PowerShot A630
Location: Our front yard garden.
Date: Nov 5, 2007
Galleries: Macro, Floral
Date Uploaded: Nov 7, 2007

The plant tag with its name, "Eupohorbia myrsinites" AKA "Myrtle Euphorbia", says:
"A low growing Spurge with blue-green leaves that contrasts nicely with the sulphur-yellow flowers in the late spring. Tolerates heat and dryness better than others.
CAUTION: toxic if consumed."

Taken for/during the "Textures" side challenge (but I kept out of it) at our little "stone garden", in our front yard, just before the temperature dropped.
Specs say it height varies from 4 to 8 inches. Ours is quite tall already, therefore that DOF and bokeh.
A different perspective of one of these:

Very cool light on this plant, I like how it just hits the top of the plant. a reflector might have helped fill in those shadows on the left side. I just notice your file is only 35 kb, you can use up to 150 kb, which would make the small detail edges much smoother and less jaggedy. IF you have PS take a look at this tutorial for getting your images ready for challenges. Its a very cool shot but I feel you may lose points simply because if the file size(image quality) and not the image.

I would have liked to see the entire flower in very sharp focus with the blurred background.. The leaves off to the right are a tad bit distracting because the are so out of focus compared to the left side.. imho 6

I love it! The plant is beautiful, and your lighting does a good job of capturing the subtle details in the leaves
