I think it would be better if the focus was more on the entire subject rather than just the back of it. Otherwise I think the comp is great, and the colors are beautiful.

Beautiful colours on that leaf. The focus is off, IMO, the front part (closest to the viewer) should be sharp here for the image to work well, probably the whole leaf. Since it's sitting there on a white background (no wind, no interferences in the fore/background), a longer exposure might do the trick.

Getting the entire leaf in focus may have added some edge here

Was the narrow depth of field intentional? I think it would have worked better if the whole leaf was sharp. I like the position in the frame.
