This is cool. Great catch! I would never have guessed that former trees could steam like that lol. Love the composition with the wood pile in the foreground and their former selves in the background ;) |

Can't be objective here. We have a small converted to electric woodchipper worth its weight in gold; but we also have a stand of trees of nearly the same configuration (including background trees) and fall colour that I almost entertained the thought you had stolen one of my photos, though I've never posted any. Alas our piles rarely steam like the professionals'. |

Wow, I'd have thought it was smoke! I've never seen steam rising from a pile of leaves. Well photographed. |

It's nice that you put the trees in the background in this shot to give some perspective. One of my friends runs a compost business, and the windrows are about 140 deg F in the middle. It seems like a great energy source that no one has tapped yet. They compost about 20 tractor trailer loads per day.
