Well, I didn't have anything for today. Ken took the shot I wanted. :oP It all turned out alright though. I was forced to find something else to shoot for the day and I had to get a little creative.

While sitting on our love seat across from the fireplace I saw the pilot light for the fireplace. We have a fake fireplace, unfortunately. Would love to have a real wood burning fireplace, which is besides the point I guess. Back to the story, I thought the pilot light would make an interesting picture. I got some books, a DVD and some tissue to prop my camera up on and clicked away. I only took two pictures (wasn't in the mood to take a lot) and the second one looked good enough. While playing around with processing I came across an awesome filter in filter forge. I liked the abstractness of it so this is what you get. Note: I think our fireplace has been turned on only twice, maybe even once, in the 5 1/2 years we've lived here.

I like how it turned out overall. I am bummed that it looks so dark in the thumbnail though :o(

That's really cool, I thought it was a soap bubble (the colored part anyway).

Cool abstract! I see a beaked monster with a jewel toned eye. BTW, we converted our fireplace from wood burning to gas several years ago, something which I was totally opposed to at first. I thought that it would look really fake, but it doesn't at all, and I've actually grown to love it. We use it all the time now instead of just on special occasions as we did before. It's so easy and so clean. I do miss that lovely woodsy smell though.

Fascinating textures - love the rainbowish area. Very cool. Got me to stare at it for quite a while.

There's an Art Nouveau woman in there. She's reclining and that light curve at the left is her leg. The colors are something in her hair. Amazing textures.

I love it. Abstract and futuristic but with old world deep tones. Ok, I'll read your comments now. ;~D
