I don't think this tree will survive very long. Fallen in one of the januari storms. Tried it in B&W, but for me it looks better in color. Cloned some anoying branches away.

That is one big tree. (Willow/Salix?) At first I thought it very different from mine: you have the bark and those fine squiggly branches so enticingly reflected in the water. And I still think that is the strength in this picture. My second thought is yes, it is like mine - big old tree reaching out, even if fallen, over good reflecting mostly smooth water, a kind of basic nature happening, given that trees grow near water, get old and make their eloquent way to the great beyond. Yours is more difficult to photograph yet you managed to convey its character and mass.

To me, it looks like this tree has already seen its end. It's not a bad photo, but for me, no "wow" factor as they say here at DPC.

I think you're too close. A wider perspective would have given more context to this shot.
