Instant grunge.

This is our outdoor kitty, Dr. Bates. He's not a fan of our other two male cats and shows that by spraying so he is so deemed "our outdoor kitty".

Here he is sitting outside our sliding door. Yes, the door is that dirty. May I remind you I have two big slobbery dogs and two small sticky handed boys. :) That door gets cleaned once a week. I would clean it more often but there's really no point as it'll be a mess 5 seconds later anyways.

No need for texture overlays here. You're all welcome to come shoot through my nasty glass sliding door. Please, just call first. :)

Edit- That weird looking light streak going through the middle of the cat are actually my dogs front legs reflecting in the glass. He was laying just inside the glass door. Probably what Bates was looking at. :)

Love it. The cat's expression is so indescribably...well, cat-like. :)

lol about the texture. i have a drool-covered front window (of course it's the FRONT window) that i should get some "texture" shots from.

Gorgeous kitty! Neat little border, and love the idea of shooting through a dirty window for texture!

What a great photo, Jennifer. And if you cleaned every day, you couldn't get awesome looks like this. You have much more important things to do with 2 boys and slobbery dogs and photos to take :)

Whoa! This is such a perspective challenge. Its like the 'Old Hag' vs 'Beautiful young woman' painting. When first opened all I saw was the bright left side (looks kinda like Bart Simpson without a nose, and on crack) and my eye couldn't even see Dr.Bates at all. Then my perspective adjusted, and, huh, there was a cat. Hey, I am not on drugs!

Love the grunge and Dr. Bates. There was a profile of a photographer in one of the "arty" photo magazines a few months ago. I can't remember his name, but he keeps dirty glass around the studio and shoots a lot of his stuff through it.

When I saw the thumbnail I was trying to make something out of the white... surprise. LOL @ me.

Dr. Bates seems to be contemplating mischief through that dirty sliding door window. I think that a nice black cat like that needs to be put to work modeling for Halloween shoots. :)

Love the focus on his eye! Cool shot and great 'texture'. Never thought of that ....could just shoot through the side windscreen for an instant Bailey slobber grunge layer :P
