I received this canvas and it looked great at first glance. However, there were a few pinpoint white spots on lower portion. Still not a big deal. Somebody in the Canvasondemand thread said they had defects and I checked it over again. Sure enough the corner was scuffed; I just hadn't noticed before.

The required "proof" stated was a picture of the defect. wickee_one called and they said to cut out a swatch and send it in. My guess is that people were saying they had defects just to get a free canvas.

I really like this canvas and it wouldn't be presentable to a client. But I didn't want to cut it. Not only is it the first big print I ever made but I really, really like it. So I emailed customer service the "photo proof as requested".

I forgot to attach the pictures. I sent another one right after with pictures. They respond and say to send pics to somebody else. A bit later they respond to second email (one with pictures) and say to cut it and send piece. So that's what happened. In the very short time between cutting, the other guy responds that they're re-making the canvas immediately (based on photo proof). So it was cut for no reason.

I ended up paying $35 for shipping plus a larger size and I'll end up getting what I paid for, but it really sucks that it was cut. I didn't request a new canvas to scam 'em, but hated to ruin a canvas that still looked good. I would have been happier if I sent it in instead of having to see it cut like that.

I'll post when replacement comes in, but it will be on my wall this time.

now you just need a big matte to cover the cut. :)

Too bad, darn it! I think you should restretch it as well. Can't wait to see the new one!

Man, sorry you cut yours. :( Maybe, like ButterflySis said, you could take it off the frame entirely and restretch it?

Well , that's a sad story- it is a beautiful canvas...

Could the canvas be "cropped" and stretched to a slightly smaller frame?

That stinks. Can you set it on a coffee table leaned up against the wall and place a small vase or something in the corner to cover it up?

Edit: just realized this is in the top...not the bottom. dang. it would be a shame to waste this
