It makes sense to me -- honestly. These guys have such a "distant" look in their eyes, but of course you can't see that in this shot. Also, they keep their distance from others and from humans. Plus, they are far away from home. Figure the dnmc crowd will have a heyday with this, but, like I said, it makes perfectly good sense to me.

shot with the 70-200L

Sweet, moving. (Do we sometimes feel like that with our camera?)

Animal shots always make me sad! Well, animals in confinement! Excellent capture...I feel sad! 7

I like the b&w conversion, and the fact that the monkey has somehwere to look, rather than positioning him at the right of the frame. I also think the dof helps to make the wall in the distance look like it is further away than I am sure it really is. Nicely done.

So contemplative. I like it. Too bad it's only basic editing. You could've really played around to even give him more POP and distance him further from the background. ;~D 7

Beautiful shot. But far away from what?

really like the unusual take on the challenge and the composition. the lack of contrast and drawing in the shadows as well as the blown lights and the oversharpening take away from the image.
