Sometimes the distance isn't very far between having a home and being one of the homeless.

The distance between one and the other for LOTS of people is as close as ONE paycheck.

Distance "fits" much better than the description of distant.

The idea comes through very clearly.

Very well done, Jennifer!

Give me a break.

Dude....we all have different ideas and interpretations. Settle down....I think you may need more that a break. Have a beer.

Sorry but photo does not meet challenge of distance. Distant is much different than distance.

According to the dictionary it is not.

This image is not convincing to me.

To add conviction a more 'edgy' viewpoint would have been appreciated. In addition the bright colours of the very 'clean' jeans really detracts from the idea that this person is infact displaced.

A grungy B&W may have helped.

would be better in bw

I like the original idea. I would like to see less foreground, so maybe a slightly tighter crop would work better. I also think the black on the wall behind the subject is distracting.

The only thing that says distance is the title, and even thats a stretch.

But, it is a fantastic shot.

Is this real or staged? Emotional either way! Nice job.

A great idea for sure, wonderful lighting and sharpness,
The only thing I have against, is the clean Jeans, doesn't reflect the rough life of a homeless,
This doesn't mean by any chance it is not wonderful,
Very well done
Cheers,

creative and possibly evoking shot, though looks fake as clothes are too clean and carton too new. good colors, contrast and sharpness, only would like to see more wall and less foreground.

We see many homeless shots. This is well done. The dog has his watchful eye on his master. The blue of the jeans, the red of the cup. Nice balance and composition. Well done.
