This is Shadow, a little mottled gray girl. While she is mostly gray she is similar to her mom Mercy because she has little patches of beige and orange fur. She also inherited her mom's nasty disposition when it comes to food; she is extremely fierce and will not let anyone else eat from the same bowl she eats from. She even backs my two big boys Skottles and Ajax down! I generally give her her own little bowl so she doesn't keep anyone else from their snacks, but eventually I guess they'll all just have to learn to 'get along' :-)

As for post processing, I've found a groove I like for these silly cat pictures and this one is no different. A little shadow/highlight, a little Whyeth, channel mixer to mostly desat, a bit of usm at the end.

the thing that makes your cat shots not "cat shots" is the perspective you get. you're not afraid to get underneath them, and that makes them infinitely more interesting.

I'm telling you - you've got to make a book! These are all completely astonishing and wonderful. I just love how this kitty has her paws up on the edge and the look - it does reflect what you are saying about her attitude towards food.

I'm going to have to come visit you and your cats. They seem to have the niftiest personalities! I love the treatment you're giving the pics, too.

You've got to put together a kitty montage with all of these kitty shots at the end of the month. They'll look so great as a collection.

I like the eyes in the photo they really draw you into the frame. Real good use of the rule of thirds.

"I love my kitty cube", and her expression says, "and you keep away from it!"
Good point of view. ;-Þ
