Challenge: What is this Pencil? (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Sigma 18-125mm f/3.5-5.6 DC for Canon

Aperture: f/5.0

This shot took quite a few attempts because of the smoke. Used a lot of side and back lighting, but it was all house lamps as I don't have any studio lighting. That casted a orangish tint on everything (obviously), so i converted to black and white. Just levels, curves and b&w for post production. Cropped and converted to web size. Hopefully this one does ok, and hopefully no one else had this idea...

Very creative idea, i would have liked to see more smoke in this one, as well as a bit more contrast to give it better tones. Nice composition as well, neat shot.

Love the b&w here, the image seems a bit soft. A bit of contrast would have helped, in my opinion.

I would have liked to see stronger smoke signals

I would have made the background a little darker black. Higher contrast would have added to the picture.

Although the grays look a little flat, I like the smoke. It adds to the concept of the pencil being a cigarette.

I think you could have portrayed this better, used a white pencil and showed more smoke coming out of the tray. It's a good idea.
