 five wine glasses, on in the middle is bigger, filled halfway with turpentine. using a spray refresher i sprayed a long burst into each glass. then set the camera to 6.5seconds then really quickly used a bar-b-que lighter and lit in sequential order. this setup took 40+ shots and a burned hand. my orginal idea resulted in 60+ shots and singed arm and hand hair. to the obvious i didn't like my original idea which involved spraying fire into the glass. i know this one is going to get tore up, but at least appreciate the hard work it took.

This looks way to synthetic for my taste. Looks like a strange technique too, but it's been disguised with the muddy toning.
