This shot is gonna tank hard I know it. I took this with my boys p&s while at Toys R Us. We were there to spend his birthday money. He is actually searching for his next transformer. But his camera was all I had. I took a handful of images with no flash and some with. The ones with flash were pretty bad. The ones without were pretty blurry. The first image I edited I somehow saved over the original. So I had to go back and find another to do. The tonemapping feel is pretty heavyhanded (not as heavy as I had originally done) so I figure I will get hit hard for that. Its not really in good focus and its another picture of my boy. Maybe a 5.5 but I wont hold my breath.

Tonemapped in LIghtroom and then mellowed out a bit in PS.

I don't know if I have a really odd way of looking at things or not, but I LOVED the feel of this pic. It was borderline cartoonish, which is kind of the idea of a child with a wad of cash picking out the perfect toy, isn't it? It's really retro feeling to me. It could just as easily be my son (who is 31 now) picking out HIS next Transformer.

I agree with one of your early commentors, this defintely has a lucis filter feel to it. Certainly not your best effort recently. Your Flora/Fauna shot seems be to be scoring well so hopefully a return to form for you there..

This photo looks over processed yet it is not sharp. Good take on the challenge though.

Our searching little friend looks quite a bit over worked (photoshopped) for my personal taste.

So much to choose from! With such a busy background, it might have been helpful to choose a shirt which was a solid color... perhaps a yellow to stand apart from the background? Love the money in hand too, a nice touch.

I like the lucis effect with this one. 7

Great framing and background. Very clean and simple, even though it is busy. Good capture.

Processing seems a bit much on this. You have a well composed photograph here you don't have to make it look all funky in photoshop to make it great, it is great on its own

Composition is good, feels overprocessed, probably going to get dinged lots for that.
