Cute, and good use of neg space. I collect American dinnerware and this appeals to me on that level as well. Good job! Good luck in the challenge! Grayce aka Gracious

Oh yeah - I can certainly relate..... Very striking photo; nicely done.

Makes me hungry, anxiously awaiting the food to fill up the empty space. Well composed, good light, excellent idea.

Cute choice of object on the plate - the colours in the stuffed olive are vibrant. I am not keen on the pink colour tint to the plate.

Nice shadows, lighting and symmetry

Really good. Only complaint is the shadows. But if your like me and don't have the lighting equipment to eliminate that, then I know how it is. It's something I've been working on as well.

Oh no, I don't even like olives! the shadows i think are interesting, but would a different perspective (camera angle) make it more interesting? Or placing the plate/bowl off center, maybe. karmat

made me chuckle

Blooming on the lefthand side hurts this image, but only a little. I like the "negative space within negative space" aspects of this image... 6 -lenier

Good technical photo. Not sure that the negative space improves impact, though. 8

Very nice play of shadows, and a humorous shot. The composition is witty. The colors are well chosen. In this case the negative space is used with intention, and it reinforces the hunger of the unfortunate recipient of this meager meal. 9

excellent great graphic design

A nice & creative shot. I am thinking the lighting on the plate could have been cooler, but still I like it.

No no no no no no, nasty!!!!! I think green olives are gross. It looks funny sitting there by itself, and it would just sit there if that was my plate. I kinda like the way you have the shadows in this shot. good detail. I'll give you a 7, but I'm not eating that olive :)

Very nicely done. I like the shadows - they really add to the picture.

great use of light and color. nice shot. cmcvety.

Nice arrangement, very simple, but nice. Lighting is the only real problem that I have with this image. I think that it would be much better if it were lit so as to eliminate the shadows, espescially the distinct shadow from the olive.

at first I smiled then I drank it all in and said outloud, "oh wow". I think you have three great examples of negative space here. The black is negative space in relation to the plate which is negative space in relation to the olive which is negative space in relation to the pimento! 10!

clever idea, i'm starving! ;-)

The empty space of this dish transmit exactly the feel of someone on diet :). Good use of the negative space.

Mean--lean diet. Cool lighting, composition, creative work. Wish the olive was a bit off center. IMHO Good luck. Score 7 Justine

round fiesta ware with an olive.......... i love the round motif...... shadows on the interior of the plate/bowl are interesting, no hot-spots, but a boring black border.

i hope that you eat more than that--i like your image and concept--shadows are just right--9bobgaither

This is sort of a "double negative space" isn't it??! Nice work, good composition, would have preferred to see the plate without the large shadow on the left side. Overall, good work, but the shot doesn't carry a lot of impact for me. lhall-6
