I love the way Mouse is looking at me here with her "eye brows" raised as if to ask, "What on earth are you doing lying by the hay I'm trying to eat." Or maybe, "Ma, get up! You're embarrasing me."
When I first viewed this image, I thought it looked like a caricature because of the unusual perspective. So, I worked to enhance that "feel" but desaturating, softening areas, dodging and burning for highlights, increasing the contrast slightly, cloning layers of the clouds down into the trees to give the appearance of mist or fog, and finally, adding some color back in but keeping it muted.
